Gallimore, Croley win Class 3A State Track & Field titles

State Champions were crowned at Saturday’s Class 3A Track and Field State Championship and two Marshall County athletes earned their place among the state’s best. Presley Gallimore won the state title in the 400 meters with a time of 56.53 and Deegan Croley placed first in shot put with a throw of 56-6.

Great results were turned in by the Marshall County squad in Lexington. In team standings, the Lady Marshals finished 19th overall and the Marshals were 12th among the 42 teams. The girls’ team from Dupont Manual and the boys’ team from St. Xavier took the team titles.

A total of nine earned state medals after placing in the top eight:
