
Linda Baskin passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, at the age of 97 in Paducah, KY. Linda was born on November 12, 1926, in Graves County, KY, to Lora and Maymie Record Thompson.
Linda was employed as a secretary at Modine Manufacturing for 40 years. A devout member of the First Baptist Church Paducah, Linda’s faith was very important to her. She served as the 4-year-old’s Sunday school teacher for over 30 years and was on the First Baptist Church Hospitality Committee. She was also a member of the W.M.U. Mission group for over 60 years. Linda was a longtime supportive member of P.E.O. and after her retirement, she was a dedicated volunteer at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
She is survived by her niece, Nancy MacKenzie (Dr. Thomas) of Weatherford, Texas, nephews, David Anderson (Stacy) of Jacksonville, Florida, Tommy Syers (Doris) of Decatur, Alabama, Dennis Goldford (Sharon) of Clive, Iowa, Marc Goldford (Sue) of St. Louis, Mo., and Bruce Goldford of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She is also survived by her first cousin, Inda Lane Stewart (Bryan) of Paducah, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Elliott Baskin, and her sisters, Hilda Anderson and Elyene Syers. She was also predeceased by her niece, Susan Herman.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Israel Cemetery in Paducah. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. A recording of the funeral service will be available on Linda’s Tribute Wall at the Milner and Orr Website after the service.
