Joan worked at Andover Clothing Company, Montgomery Ward and Company and Bob Blake Pontiac. She was a homemaker and a dedicated member of First Baptist Church, where she taught pre-school and Sunday School.
Mrs. Dodson is survived by one son, Chris Dodson of Mayfield, KY; one daughter, Jan Dodson (Patrick) Spangler of Cleveland, TN; two sisters, Peggy (Bill) McAlpin of Mayfield, KY and Nancy (David) Vaughn of Wingo, KY; and four grandchildren, Collins Dodson, Carter Dodson, Hudson Spangler and Houston Spangler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Dodson; one sister, Patsy Ball; and her parents, Gardner and Bonnie Tucker.
Funeral services for Mrs. Joan Tucker Dodson will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Paul Wilkerson will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
