
Betty Jane Feldsien, 90 of Paducah, KY passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Baptist Health in Paducah. Betty Jane was born in Paducah, KY on June 29, 1933 to Obadiah and Elizabeth Wheeler Fields.
Betty Jane was a 1952 graduate of Augusta Tilghman High School, Betty carried her passion for education and personal growth to Murray State University, where she earned a degree in Physical Education. Her academic achievements were complemented by her active involvement in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, where she formed lifelong friendships and honed her leadership skills. Betty Jane was a member of First Christian Church and a former member of the United Church of Paducah since childhood. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. An avid gardener, Betty found joy in the beauty of nature. Her hands, always willing to tend to her flowers, brought color and life to her garden, a place of tranquility and reflection.
Her volunteerism extended to her active participation in Garden Club projects, Betty’s contributions to her hometown community were recognized when she was honored with the title of Duchess of Paducah, a fitting tribute to a woman who gave so much of herself to the place she called home. Above all, Betty Jane cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She instilled in them the values of love, education, and community service, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to flourish in their lives.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Murphy of Littleton, CO and Caroline (Mark) Held of Bonita Springs FL; one son, Paul (Lisa) Feldsien III of Paducah, KY; six grandchildren, Sarah Watkins, Jacob McCallon, Seth Murphy, Kaitlin Murphy, Erin (Rafek) David and Chad Behbehani; three great-grandchildren, Piper Watkins, Parker Watkins and Camden David.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Paul Feldsien JR. and her sister, Martha June Albritton.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jae Gottman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service time on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home in Paducah.
