Hubert Joe Gibson, age 84, of Boaz, Kentucky passed away at 12:06 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at his residence.
Hubert was born on August 17, 1939, to Harve and Ettie Turner Gibson. He was of Baptist faith. Hubert was retired from General Tire where he worked as a custodian. He enjoyed farming and working in his garden. Hubert loved to coon hunt and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Martha Courtney Gibson; two daughters, Carolyn (Johnny) Carnes and Jeannie Buchholz both of Graves County; one son, Ronnie (Tanya) Gibson of Graves County; one brother, William (Dub) Gibson; seven grandchildren, Courtney Carnes, Jonna Crews, Summer Pryor, Amanda Downen, Wayne Hurley Gibson, Taylor Buchholz and Tyler Buchholz; eight great-grandchildren; Johnathon Carnes, Cole Mason, Rebekah Crews, Lailah Pryor, JoAnn Downen, Cynthia Grace Hurley, Waylan Joe Hurley and Porter Wayne Hurley; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were his parents, Harve and Ettie Turner Gibson; son-in-law, Terry Buchholz; four sisters, Peggy Kincannon, Christine McGill, Florine Massey, and Lisa Cruse; one brother, James Gibson; six great-grandchildren, Chloe Crews, Thaddeus Crews, Angel Crews, Isabella Downen, Skyler Crews and baby Crews.
Services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Ivey officiating. Burial will follow at the Kansas Cemetery in Melber, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
