PADUCAH, Ky. (April 14, 2024)  A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has closed the KY 1529 Overpass that crosses the Purchase Parkway in Hickman County.

KY 1529 had been restricted to one lane with alternating flow controlled by an automated signal where it crosses the Purchase Parkway to allow rehab work on the overpass.  As part of the ongoing work, the contactor found a void under the roadway that appears to have been caused by erosion.

KY 1529 is closed to traffic at milepoint 13.7 between Owens Lane and Satterfield Road.  The overpass is along KY 1529 just over a half-mile west of the Hickman-Graves County Line.

There is no marked detour.  However, motorists may self-detour via U.S. 45, KY 94, and KY 307.

KY 1529 will remain closed until further notice while the erosion damage is repaired.

There is no impact to traffic on the Purchase Parkway at this site.

KYTC District 1 and the contractor will attempt to provide timely updates.
