John “Butch” J. Smith, age 77, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 3:58 A.M. Friday, March 29, 2024 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Butch was born in Detroit, Michigan on Thursday, June 13, 1946 to Kenneth and Charlene Smith. He was an avid NASCAR fan and also enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Mason Bay City Masonic Lodge #771.
Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Johnna Brookshire (Darrell) of Paducah; his grandchildren, Rachel, Regan, Jennifer, Katie, Michaela, Kierstyn, Kara Mae, Emmaline, Jeslee and Jack; his stepsons, Eddie Johnson (Julie), Shawn Johnson (Amanda), all of Paducah, Jason Johnson (Amy) of Franklin, Tennessee and Daniel Johnson of Cocoa Beach, Florida.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda K. Smith; his second wife, Sue Johnson Smith; his parents, Kenneth Smith and Lettie Charlene Styers Taylor; his step father, James Vernon Taylor; his son, John Jason Smith; his four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes with Pastor Jeff Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Lone Oak Chapel.
