Nellie Elizabeth “Betty” Kendall passed peacefully from this earth to glory in Heaven on Thursday, March 28th, 2024 at her home in Golo, KY at the age of 100 years old. She met her husband John William Kendall in Connecticut while welding on a submarine during World War II. She then moved to Golo, KY where she and John raised their family. She was an avid horse lover who loved riding and camping at Wranglers Campground. She was well known for her beautiful floral arrangements at Betty’s Hobby Shop. She was also well known for her knitted and crocheted creations. She was loved by all far and wide and was a long term member of Mount Olive and Bethel Church of Christ. She was baptized in Clark’s River.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Stanley Finch, Phoebe DeCarli, and stepfather Peter DeCarli, her husband John William Kendall, and sons, Ned William Kendall and Jim Kendall. She is survived by her sons Charles (Cheryl) Kendall, Roger (Debbie) Kendall, and John E (Donna) Kendall, her daughter Ann (John) Clapp all of Mayfield, KY; her sister, Lillian Foreman; and her daughter-in-law Janice Kendall of Murray, KY. She is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren and their eighteen spouses; fifty-four great grandchildren and their eight spouses; eight great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Nellie Elizabeth “Betty” Kendall will be 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Stan Colley and Stacy Overby will officiate.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Church of Christ Cemetery in Golo, KY.

Her grandsons’ will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
