Congratulations to the Marshall County Special Olympics basketball team on their State Championship! The “March Magic” State Basketball Tournament was held at MidAmerica Sports in Louisville March 9-10.
Members of Marshall 3 are Mason Tatumn, Alicia Thomas, Evan Miller, Daniel Austin, Jayden Lindsey, Gio Hillman, Seth Stepter, Travis Hicks, Tyler Holt. Coaches are Noah Steele and Peyton Weitlauf.
The Marshall 3 team fought their way back from a 6-point deficit at halftime. With the game tied up, the veteran Marshall team took the win in the final seconds of overtime with an amazing drive to the basket and lay up shot by Alicia Thomas. This win marks the second consecutive State Championship for the Marshal 3 team.
