David D. Alvey, 66, of Wickliffe, Kentucky passed away at 10:19 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2024 at Mercy Health Lourdes. He was born in Paducah, Kentucky on October 8, 1957. David was a self-employed Flooring Installer. He attended the Church of God Assembly Holiness in his younger years. David enjoyed Bass fishing, motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson Motorcyles. David was known for rescuing all injured or abandoned animals giving them the love and care that they needed. He loved all of his grandbabies and spending time loving on them.
David is survived by his wife, Deborah Bolton Alvey; two sons, David A. Alvey and wife, Savannah of Calvert City, Kentucky and Coty Alvey and wife, Melissa of Paducah, Kentucky; step-sons, Chad Wilson and wife, Jamie of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Rick Grimm and wife, Christanna of Washington State; step-daughter, Shawna McCain of Wickliffe, Kentucky; sister, Tresea Strickland Riley of Paducah, Kentucky; brothers, Robert Strickland of Paducah, Kentucky and Timothy Strickland of Ormond Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Logan Alvey, Anniston Alvey, Graham Alvey, Korben Alvey and Holden Alvey; step-grandchildren, Rylan Sawyer, Emily McCain, Isabella and Connor.
He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Shaye Price; sister, Susan Strickland and his parents, Troy Strickland and Clara Mae Estes Strickland.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jeremy Short officiating.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
