Master Gardener Barbara Ray joined us on WCBL’s Coffee Call program. Ray says now is a good time to start planning your vegetable gardens and flower gardens. She says lots of people will be growing tomatoes and there are lots of different varieties and two main types of tomatoes…those that will produce all at once which is good for canning and those that produce regularly over a long period of time. And with the high cost of food at the grocery story, she says many people are turning to growing their own vegetables. Ray says you can ask a master gardener for advice and lots of free information about gardening is also available from the Marshall County Extension Office.
