Bailey Allred signs with Bellarmine University track and field

Bailey Allred signed on Wednesday to continue her track and field career at Bellarmine University joined by her parents Brad and Laurie and brother Bryson.

Wednesday at Marshall County High School, Bailey Allred signed to continue her track and field career at Bellarmine University in Louisville.

As a four-year member of the Marshall County track and field program, Bailey has been an integral part of the Lady Marshals’ success in the shot put and discus over those four seasons. She is a multi-time All Area 1 award winner in the shot and discus. The All-Area awards represent the best competitors in the entire Jackson Purchase region regardless of class.

Bailey is one of the top competitors in the state in the weight throw and the hammer throw, both of which she has primarily competed in independently during winter and summer events with AAU and USATF. She is currently ranked in the top five in all of her events in Class 3A.

“Bailey has been one of the best and most consistent performers that we have had over the past four years and has exhibited an extraordinary work ethic in all aspects of being a student-athlete”, Head Coach Cory Westerfield said. “She has excelled in the classroom and on the field. On a personal note, I told Bailey she would be a good thrower at a middle school basketball game, and she jumped in with both feet and has worked and worked to achieve everything that she has achieved. We are excited that Bailey will have the opportunity to continue her track career at Bellarmine University. Go Marshals and go Knights!”

Joining Bailey at her signing were members of her family, coaches, teammates, teachers and friends.
