
Marshall County hosted Webster County on Tuesday and the Lady Marshals kicked off the double header with a 65-37 win over the Lady Trojans.
With leading scorer Skylar Waller sidelined with an injury the last couple of games, the youth of the team have stepped up in a big way. Freshman Kenzlee Terry led the scoring with 19 points and put up 23 points in the Lady Marshals 56-40 win over Mayfield on Saturday. She hit four three pointers in each of those wins.
Sophomore Eden Sandlin was the second leading scorer with 12 against Webster County and 13 in the win over Mayfield. Freshman Rylan Darnall had 10 in Tuesday’s win and seven against Mayfield.
Terry scored nine of the Lady Marshals first quarter points to fuel a 15-7 lead over Webster County. The Lady Trojans cut the lead down to two in the second quarter but an 8-0 run by the Lady Marshals followed to push it back out to 10 at 27-17 and they held a 27-23 lead at halftime.
While holding Webster County to five third quarter points, the Lady Marshals put up 22 to extend the lead to 49-28 led by Terry with seven and Sandlin with six. Seven different players contributed to the fourth quarter scoring in the 65-37 win.
The Lady Marshals improve to 19-6 with just two games left on the regular season schedule. Friday they will play at McCracken County (21-4) then host Hickman County on Tuesday.
