
Marshall County senior Delaney Miller is wrapping up her outstanding swimming career in a big way starting with Friday’s Region One Championships at Hopkinsville High School. Delaney took first in the 50 yard freestyle (25.43) and first in the 100 yard freestyle (55.77) and will advance to the KHSAA Swimming State First Round on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Russell County High School.
Delaney also won the Sportsmanship award and Outstanding Athlete award at the Region One Championships.
She broke the school record in the backstroke by two seconds and earlier this season, Delaney broke the school record in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.16 that dated back to 2001. She also currently holds the school record in the 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard breaststroke.
Junior Anders DeSanty recorded a top 10 finish in the 100 yard breaststroke. Anders finished sixth in 1:37.09. He finished just out of the top 10 in 11th in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.22.
The girls and boy’s teams from Murray High took first place.
