
Calvert City Pickleball players went to Owensboro to participate in the 2nd Annual Rivertown Throwdown in the Boro, February 2-4. The events were held at the beautiful Merchant Centre Court on 14 indoor pickleball courts. There were 474 entries over three days playing a round robin format with divisions 2.5 through 5.0 Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles including +50 in all divisions.
Several events had as many as 21 teams competing for placement. Forty-two players from far Western Kentucky brought home 10 medals – 2 Gold and 8 Bronze medals. Some great competition with several of our players going on to the medal matches and others experienced the tournament atmosphere for the first time.
