LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

  • On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, around 8am, Sheriff Brent White charged Dawn M. White (52) of Dixon, IL on a Christian County Indictment Warrant where she was indicted for Theft of Identity of Another Without Consent, Theft of Motor Vehicle Registration Plate, Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Drug Paraphernalia-Possession.

 

  • On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, around 8:13am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams was dispatched to the Max Fuel convenience store off KY 293 for a single vehicle collision. His investigation revealed a 2020 Peterbilt truck, driven by Brennon E. Maynard (28) of Hopkinsville was making a delivery to the business, when the driver misjudged a clearance and struck a gas pump. The KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement division assisted Chief Deputy Adams at the scene.

 

  • On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, around 10:07am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams was dispatched to a single vehicle collision on KY 93 South approximately 12 miles South of Eddyville. His investigation revealed a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Lauren E. Dickerson (31) was North bound on KY 93 South when she encountered pooling water in the roadway and hydroplaned before losing control. Her vehicle entered a ditch off the right shoulder and slid for approximately 75 feet until coming to rest. No injuries were reported.

 

  • On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, around 7:54pm, Deputy David Carroll was dispatched to the Huck’s Travel Center in Kuttawa for a shoplifting complaint. His investigation identified Manjinder S. Shergill (48) of Winnipeg, Canada as the person who repeatedly entered the Kuttawa business and stole multiple cans of beer from the cooler. Shergill was located in his semi-truck parked in the parking lot. He was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking-Shoplifting, and Violation Part 392 of the Federal Motor Carrier’s Safety Act for having alcoholic beverages in a commercial vehicle. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center. The Eddyville Police Department assisted Deputy Carroll.

 

 

 

  • On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, around 3:20pm, Deputy Michelle Kent and Sheriff Brent White were dispatched to a disturbance complaint at the Max Fuel convenience store off KY 293 near Exit 45. It was reported that a female who was barefoot and soaking wet was approaching customers and making unintelligible communications. Upon the arrival of the Sheriff’s Office, they located the female and identified her as Sabrina F. Brown (41) of Fredonia. Brown was determined to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance, and she was arrested for Public Intoxication. She was later transferred to the WARM Rehabilitation Center in Henderson in lieu of incarceration; however, after causing a disturbance at the facility, she was discharged. Upon returning to the Fredonia area on January 27, 2024, around 10:30am, she was arrested again by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Criminal Trespassing. Her original bond was revoked by a District Court Judge, and she was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.

 

  • On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, around 10pm, Deputy David Carroll served a criminal summons for Caldwell County District Court on Beech Street in Kuttawa. Arthur D. Stueber (34) of Kuttawa was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking-Shoplifting for an incident which reportedly occurred at Wal-Mart.

 

  • On Thursday, January 25, 2024, around 1:15am, Deputy David Carroll was dispatched to a DUI complaint in Kuttawa. Deputy Carroll located a witness on Panther Creek Road who led the deputy to the vehicle on KY 819 which was in a ditch. The driver fled on foot into a wooded area but was located a short time later. She was identified as Theodosia M. Lambert (34) of Paducah. She was arrested and charged with DUI-2nd Offense (aggravating circumstance), Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia-1st Offense. Lambert was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center. The Eddyville Police Department assisted Deputy Carroll.

 

  • On Thursday, January 25, 2024, around 10:30am Sheriff Brent White responded to a two-vehicle collision on KY 93 South at the intersection of KY 6017. His investigation revealed a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Edna L. Wallace (81) of Kuttawa pulled out from KY 6017 and into the path of a 2016 Ford Focus driven by Sabrina C. Dukes (46) of Eddyville. The vehicles collided in the North bound lane of KY 93 South. Both drivers refused medical treatment at the scene. Dukes was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI-1st Offense, and Possession of Marijuana. She was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center. Both vehicles were rendered inoperable from the collision. The City of Eddyville, KYTC Highway Department personnel, and Chief Deputy Sam Adams assisted Sheriff White at the scene.

 

 

 

  • On Thursday, January 25, 2024, around 3:25pm, Sheriff Brent White and a Kentucky State Police Detective assisted a DCBS social service worker at a residence on Kingfisher Court in Eddyville. While assisting DCBS, they learned there was a fugitive in the residence. He was identified as Tyler R. Frazier (31) of Wilder. He was wanted out of Boone County for a felony probation violation. An Eddyville Police Department Officer arrived and assisted Sheriff White and the KSP Detective in locating Wilder. Wilder was originally convicted of a felony Methamphetamine offense and placed on supervised probation in which he absconded from and violated other terms of his probation. Frazier was arrested and lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

 

  • On Thursday, January 25, 2024, around 8:35pm, Deputy Michelle Kent responded to a commercial vehicle collision on US641 North near Cash Road. The investigation revealed a 2012 Volvo, driven by Jordan L. Jones (37) of Washington, IN was North bound on US 641 when the driver reported being blinded by an oncoming vehicle’s headlamps. The driver shifted right in his lane and dropped the wheels to his semi-truck and trailer off the roadway before losing control and overturning in a ditch. Jones was transported to Mercy Health Systems in Paducah by Lyon County EMS for a possible broken wrist.

 

  • On Sunday, January 28, 2024, around 9:50am, the Sheriff’s Office extradited Michael M. Coates (49) from Valdosta, GA. Once back in Kentucky, Coates was charged on a Lyon District Court felony arrest warrant for Theft by Unlawful Taking-Automobile ($1,000-$10,000). Coates is accused of stealing a 2010 Ford passenger car at a Kuttawa business off Exit 40 on or about September 13, 2023, and taking it to Chicago on September 18, 2023, where it was involved in a vehicle pursuit with Chicago Police Department and later a collision. The vehicle was a total loss following the collision. Coates evaded custody before fleeing to Georgia where he was tracked down with the assistance of Valdosta (GA) Police Department, and Lowndes County (GA) Sheriff’s Office. On January 19, 2024, Coates waived extradition back to Kentucky. He will be lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing by Deputy David Carroll.
