Robert “Bobby” Hoskins, age 88, of Bardwell, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Countryside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Bobby was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 7, 1935 to the late Onnie B. and Margaret Hoskins. He graduated from Bardwell High School, where he played basketball for the Bardwell Indians. He went on to play basketball for Boise Junior College and after enlisting in the United States Army, he played for the US Army Basketball team while stationed in Korea. After college and serving in the military, he was a guidance counselor for multiple schools in Cairo, Illinois. Bobby loved watching Kentucky Wildcats basketball.
Bobby is survived by one sister, Carol Anne Longo (John) of Cary, North Carolina; one brother, Paul Hoskins of Bardwell; four nieces, Danita Moore, Cynthia Hoskins, Julie Ann Skrupa and Amanda Jean Longo; and two nephews, Michael J. Hoskins and Kevin Hoskins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, David James Hoskins and Walter “Skippy” Hoskins; and one nephew, David James Hoskins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Rev. Jason Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
