Dessie Samsil, age 94, of Paducah, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024 at her home.
Dessie was born on June 2, 1929 to Alfred G. Alexander & Laura Bell Warner Alexander. Dessie was a long time member of the Bellview Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress having retired from Normandy Manufacturing. Dessie loved sewing and quilting. Dessie loved family and having grandchildren come to see her.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Thorne, Paducah; one son, John (Dianne) Samsil of Florida, formerly of Reidland, KY; four grandchildren, Traci (Wayne) Bruce, Teri (Darrin) Frommeyer, Cory (Niki) Samsil and Ryan Samsil; six great grandchildren, Clayton Tracy, Dylan Tracy, Preston (Mason) Frommeyer, Lexi Samsil, Cooper Samsil and Bailey Frommeyer; two great-great grandchildren Fallon and Dani Faye; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was parents, six sisters, Gladys Rose, Etna Bloomingburg, Eva Avery, Elizabeth Wurth, Dorothy Herndon and twin sister, Essie Wyatt; four brothers, William Alexander, Earnest Alexander, Roscoe Alexander and Eugene Alexander.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at the Liberty Cemetery in Folsomdale, KY. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
