LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

  • On Sunday, January 14, 2024, around 4:50pm, Sheriff Brent White responded to a single vehicle collision on US 641 approximately 3.5 miles North of Eddyville. The investigation revealed a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Michael D. Jones (56) of Farmington, was South bound when his vehicle left the roadway during a snow event before colliding with a mailbox. There were no injuries reported.

 

  • On Monday, January 15, 2024, around 3:45pm, Sheriff Brent White responded to a single vehicle collision on Iron Hill Road, approximately 2 miles Southwest of Kuttawa. The investigation revealed a 2010 Nissan Sentra, driven by Benjamin J. Dowell (18) of Eddyville was East bound on a snow packed hill when the driver lost control of his vehicle before leaving the roadway and colliding with a deck and railing attached to a residence. There were no injuries reported.

 

  • On Monday, January 15, 2024, around 4pm, Sheriff Brent White responded to a single vehicle, rollover collision on KY 1271 involving a KYTC snowplow/dump truck. The investigation revealed a 2018 Freightliner, driven by Kyle R. Fraliex (46) of Eddyville turned off KY 810 South and onto KY 1271. The truck left the roadway and overturned down an embankment. Fraliex, who was seat belted, was not injured in the collision and was able to free himself from the overturned vehicle.

 

  • On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, around 12:50pm, Sheriff Brent White responded to a complaint of property damage off KY 93 North near the intersection with KY 810 North. The investigation revealed that sometime between January 15th and January 17th, 2024, an unidentified vehicle left KY 93 North while South bound and collided with a wired fence and numerous posts. The driver of the vehicle left the scene, and it was not reported until being discovered by the property owner. If anyone has information concerning this collision, they are asked to contact Sheriff White at (270) 388-2311.

 

  • On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, around 1:42pm, deputies charged Jamie Feltner (46) of Upton, on a bench warrant, for Failure to Appear in a Larue District Court theft related case.
