Calvert City, KY (January 22, 2024) – On January 17, 2024 the Calvert City Police Department responded to the Family Dollar in reference to a shoplifting complaint. It was reported that a woman had gone in and out of the store a few times making the alarm go off. Upon officers’ arrival the woman could be seen inside the store removing items from her purse and stating she did not need them anymore. After further investigation, items were found in her vehicle that had not been purchased. Lori Jo Blades, 52, of 24 Patriot Street, Gilbertsville was arrested for theft by unlawful taking/shoplifting.
