
Mr. Charles O. “Charlie” Lovins, 77 of Murray, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at his home.
Born July 3, 1946, in Model, TN, he was the son of the late Richard A. and Bertha Lee (Chadwick) Lovins. Charlie grew up on his family’s farm “between the rivers”, hard work was instilled in him from an early age. He worked at the Tappen Stove Company until its closure, then spent the next 30 years in maintenance with the Calloway County School system. Before his retirement from the school system, he worked in the evenings at Dwain Taylor Chevrolet and Toyota of Murray. He was a member of the New Providence Baptist Church.
Charlie is survived by two sons; Charles Edwin “Ed” Lovins of Murray, KY, and Terry Lovins, wife Marley of Murray, KY; brother, Jack Lovins of Crofton, KY; sister, Faye Robinson of Murray, KY; and four grandchildren, Coleman Lovins, Sara Lovins, Emily Lovins and LexiJo Slayden-Lovins all of Murray, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 43 years, Sondra Lynn (Vance) Lovins; and three brothers, Ronnie Lovins, Donnie Lovins, and Dennis Lovins.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, with Bro. Sammy Cunningham and Bro. Mike White officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Murray, KY.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 713 South 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.
