Re: Single Vehicle, Injury Collision
On January 15, 2024 at approximately 10:00 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of an overturned vehicle in a creek near the 4000 block of KY 534.
Upon arrival, deputies found that Symsonia Fire Department was on scene working to remove 30-year-old Hailee Jones of Symsonia from the vehicle.
Through investigation, it was determined that Jones left home travelling northbound on Ky 534 just prior to the accident. Jones approached a curve in the road and while slowing down, began to slide straight ahead. Jones’ vehicle made contact with an embankment and ultimately ended up on its roof, partially in submerged in water.
Symsonia Fire Department, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Mayfield Fire Department and Graves County Deputies worked together to form a rescue plan and remove Jones from the partially submerged vehicle.
After being removed, Jones was promptly transported to Mercy Health of Paducah for non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputy Tyler Crane is leading this investigation and was assisted by Deputy Ben Doran, Deputy Austin Ramage and Deputy Chad Hall.
Symsonia Fire Department and Mayfield Fire Department and Mayfield/Graves County EMS led the non-mechanical extrication and rescue/removal efforts.
