
In the second game of the Saturday afternoon district double header between the boy’s teams from Marshall County and Christian Fellowship, it was the Marshals who came out on top 75-25. Led by Matthew Langhi with 16 points, 12 Marshals contributed to the scoring effort.
CFS jumped out to a 5-0 lead on a game-opening three pointer from Jakin Burnett and basket by Samuel Grigg. Langhi put the first points on the board for the Marshals followed by six straight points by Alex Staples for an 8-5 lead.
The Eagles took the lead again at 9-8 following a three by Daxton Kite but it would be their final lead of the game. The Marshals finished out the quarter outscoring the Eagles 14-2 to lead 22-11, the final six points coming on three pointers by Kyzer Phillips and Tommy Robertson.

A three pointer by Elijah Grigg was the only field goal for CFS in the second quarter. The Marshals put up 23 points in the quarter led by Langhi with 10 to stretch the lead to 47-14 at halftime.
The Marshals outscored the Eagles 28-11 in the second half, getting 18 points in the fourth quarter off the bench. Nine of those points coming from three-point range by Neyland Jezik with two and one by Tanner Linsin. Elijah Grigg led the Eagles in the half with five points.
The Marshals improve to 12-4 and will head to Mayfield on Tuesday to take on the Cardinals (8-6) at 7:30 following the Lady Marshals.
This was the first of four straight 4th District games for CFS. They will play at Calloway County on Tuesday, host Murray on Friday and meet Marshall County again on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
