
County neighbors and 4th District competitors Marshall County and Christian Fellowship played an afternoon game on Saturday at Reed Conder Gymnasium. The Lady Marshals beat the Lady Eagles 65-14 and improve to 11-5 while CFS drops to 8-5.
Nine Lady Marshals scored in the win led by Skylar Waller with 15 points. Marshall County held the state’s leading scorer, Gracie Howard, to 12 points. Howard’s average coming into the game was 31.1 points per game.
After a scoreless first three minutes, the Lady Marshals offense got rolling with Laken Schroader putting up the first points and the lead was 12-2 at the end of the quarter.

The Lady Marshals pushed the lead to 35-7 at halftime, led by Kenzlee Terry and Schroader in the second quarter each with six points. Howard hit a three and Rylee Hudson, the only other CFS player to score in the game, combined for the Lady Eagles five points in the quarter.
Marshall County outscored CFS 30-7 in the second half to cruise to the 65-14 victory.
The Lady Marshals will head to Mayfield (10-3) on Tuesday while Christian Fellowship will play another district opponent on Tuesday when they travel to Calloway County (14-4).
