
Juanita Jones, 77, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on January 5, 2024 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice in Paducah.
Juanita was born to the late Manuel Millan and Elfrieda Sichterman Millan in Gary, Indiana on November 3, 1946. Juanita graduated from Lew Wallace High School in 1964. She attended Indiana University Northwest, thereafter, earning her degree in nursing. She was full of compassion and her career choice couldn’t have fit her any better as she loved caring for all her patients. Juanita retired from Lourdes Hospital where she worked for 24 years. She loved the home Jim built for her and their family after moving from Indiana to Jonathan Creek, Kentucky in 1986. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, keeping her home beautiful and entertaining guests within her home. In the warmer months she loved spending her days in the pool. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Juanita is survived by her husband of over 58 years, James “Jim” C. Jones, of Benton; two daughters, Kelly Cook of St. Kitts,West Indies and Jennifer Turrill (Aaron) of Nashville, Tennessee; two brothers, Jack Millan (Gail) of Farmer City, Illinois and Jeff Millan of Knox, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Colleen Lulinski (Paul); one aunt, Hilda Conner; four grandchildren, Cameron James, Cooper Turrill, Joshua Turrill, and Christopher Turrill; 2 nephews; 11 nieces and cousins; and her life-long friend, Jill Heward.
She was preceded by one sister, Jean Ranfranz; one brother, Jim Millan; one sister-in-law, Eileen Millan; and her parents.
