Betty Jo Myrick, 92 of Ledbetter passed away at 3:07 PM Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah.
Betty was born on June 16, 1931 in Paducah, KY to James and Martha Ward. She was the last surviving member of the Ward family and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She worked as a nurse’s aide for 25 years at Lourdes Hospital and for 5 years at Lourdes Hospice. She volunteered at St. Vincent and was a “Pink Lady” at Baptist Health Paducah. She loved to travel and take girl trips along with playing bingo.
She is survived by her six children, Howard Myrick of Paducah, KY, Linda Venters, Brenda Lane & Kenny (Beverly) Myrick all of Ledbetter, KY, Joe (Donnie) Myrick of Harvest, AL & Bobby (Mylinda) Myrick of Paducah, KY; eight grandchildren & eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, her husband of 52 years, James Myrick and a great-grandchild, Mina.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, January 5, 2024 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Paducah. Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 PM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Paducah.
