Marshall County and Christian Fellowship take 20 spots in current KHSAA RPI Top 50 rankings

At the start of the new year, Marshall County and Christian Fellowship teams and individuals hold 20 spots among the state’s top 50 KHSAA Boys and Girls stat leaders.

Christian Fellowship’s Elijah Grigg ranks fourth among the top 50 scoring leaders in the state. Over 13 games, Grigg has scored 411 points for an average of 31.6 points per game. Grigg ranks seventh among top 50 rebound leaders with 113, an average of 12.6 per game.

CFS also ranks 31st in the top 50 in rebounds with an average of 32.8 per game.

Marshall County’s Alex Staples currently ranks 27th among the top 50 free throw leaders. Over 13 games, Staples is 50-of-60 at the line for an average of 83.3 percent. Matthew Langhi is ranked 31st with an average of 83 percent and has hit 39-of-47.

As a team, the Marshals rank 21st in defense, allowing 51.8 points per game from their opponents. They rank 37th in margin leaders with an average of 10.7 points per game and rank 46th among the top 50 field goal leaders with a 48.7 percent average.

The Marshals rank 12th among free throw leaders. As a team they have hit 158-of-208 for an average of 76 percent. They also rank 29th in 3-point shot percentage with an average of 38.3.

Top ranked Lyon County leads the state in winning margins. The Lyons have outscored their opponents by a total of 385 points for an average of 29.6 points per game. Travis Perry ranks first in 3-point shooting, hitting 60-of-137 for an average of 4.6 per game (43.8%). Perry ranks third among the state’s scoring leaders with an average of 29.4 points per game.

Christian Fellowship’s Gracie Howard is the second ranked player in the state among scoring leaders. Howard has a scoring average of 31 points per game over 10 games. CFS ranks 14th in defense, allowing 38.4 points per game from their opponents.

The Lady Eagles rank 39th in scoring margins with a 12.0 average per game and 16th in rebounds with 287 over eight games for an average of 35.9 per game.

Marshall County’s Skylar Waller is the seventh ranked player in the state among three-point leaders. Waller’s average is 3.4 per game for a 39.5 percent average. Chevelle Henson ranks 10th in the state among two- and three-point leaders with an average of 62.7 percent.

As a team, the Lady Marshals rank 13th in 3-point percentage at 35.1. They rank 18th in defense allowing an average of 38.9 points per game, 20th in points per game margins at 17.5 percent and 29th in field goals with an average of 42.7 percent.
