Lady Marshals finish third in Whitefield Academy tournament

Addi Wall scored 17 points to lead the Lady Marshals in their 57-20 win over South Central, Indiana that earned them third place in the Ray Zellar Christmas Tournament at Whitefield Academy.

The Lady Marshals traveled to Louisville this past week to play in the Ray Zellar Christmas Classic at Whitefield Academy December 28-30. Following an opening round loss to North Hardin 52-36, they won their next two games by a combined 111 points. They beat Francis Parker 84-10 and South Central, Indiana 57-20 to take third place in the tournament.

Saturday’s game versus South Central began much like Friday’s win over Francis Parker where they amassed an 18-0 lead to start the game. Against South Central, the Lady Marshals lead was 16-0 at the end of the first quarter.

South Central’s Gracelynn Bartoszek hit a three pointer to open the second quarter and put the Rebels on the board. The Lady Marshals put up another 18 points while holding South Central to six to take a 34-6 lead at halftime. Addi Wall led in the half with 13 points.

A 35-point lead early in the third quarter at 41-6 led to a running clock and quick second half. The Lady Marshals pushed their lead out to 47-12 at the end of the third quarter and added 10 more points in the fourth in the 57-20 win.

Wall finished with 17 points to lead the Lady Marshals. Hailey Conder scored 14 for South Central.

Wall and Kenzlee Terry were All-Tournament Team selections for the Lady Marshals. Terry led the Lady Marshals in scoring with 16 points in their win over Francis Parker.

North Hardin beat Whitefield Academy 46-43 in overtime to win the tournament championship.

Kenzlee Terry led the Lady Marshals in scoring with 16 points in the 84-10 win over Francis Parker on Friday at Whitefield Academy in Louisville.
