Robert “Bob” Alexander, age 89, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, passed away on December 28, 2023. He was born on April 2, 1934, in Cadiz, Kentucky, to Harvey T. and Pocahontas (P’Poole) Alexander.
Bob served in the U.S. Army, having been stationed in Korea from 1955-1957. He married Cleta Atnip on September 5, 1959, in Calvert City, Kentucky, where they lived for 34 years. Bob was a graduate of Murray State University, receiving a degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Education. The majority of his professional career was as an educator in the Paducah and McCracken County schools, having retired from teaching in 1991. Bob was a long-time member of the Calvert City Church of Christ, serving as an elder for many years, and for the last 30 years was a faithful member of the Southern Hills Church of Christ in Franklin, Tennessee.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Cleta Alexander of Spring Hill, Tennessee; son, Bentley Alexander and wife, Jennifer of Howe, Texas; daughter, Gaye Pike and husband, Paul of Spring Hill, Tennessee; grandchildren: Jonathan Alexander and wife, Whitney; Lauren Murray and husband, Jonathan; Cara Messmer and fiancé, Seth Bost; Kelli Johnson and husband, Parker; great-grandchildren: Westin Alexander, Caroline Alexander, Truitt Alexander, Tucker Alexander, Maxwell Murray, Remi Murray, Miller Johnson; sisters, Betty Estes and Linda Caldwell; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM, with the service at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, with Lance Cordle officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery.
