Mr. Jerry Lynn Harris, age 82, formerly of Mayfield, KY passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at his home in Paducah, KY.

Mr. Harris is survived by two brothers, Larry Harris of Paducah, KY, and John Harris (Sherry) of Cullman, AL; long-time companion and friend, Flora Perdew; nieces, Janet Martin of Lubbock, TX, Beth Kelly (David) of Durant, OK, and Amy Perdue (Tim) of Paducah, KY; nephews, Brandon Harris of St. Louis, MO, and Scott (Amanda) Harris of Murfreesboro, TN.

Mr. Harris was a 1959 graduate of Mayfield High School and attended David Lipscomb University for 2 years before completing both a B.S. and M.S. Degree from Murray State University. He received his Rank 1 from Western Kentucky University. He taught history in middle and high school for several years before serving as a principal in Kentucky public schools; St. Clair Junior High, Glasgow Junior High and High School, Paducah Tilghman High School, Crittenden County Middle School, and Henry County Middle School. He also taught Psychology part time at Madisonville Community College. He last served as Assistant Superintendent in Humboldt, TN before retiring to Paducah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Carmel Harris and sister-in-law, Jean Harris of Paducah, KY.

Graveside memorial services for Mr. Harris will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30th at Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield, KY.  Jamey Boone will officiate.
