She was a member of the New Home Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Burkhart is survived by her two daughters, Sheryl Wyatt of Benton, KY and Sherry Burkhart of Panama City Beach, FL; two sons, Thomas “Tommy” (Nisha) Burkhart, Sr. of Hickory, KY and Timmy Shane (Kelly) Burkhart of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Flora Jean (Daniel) Dowdy of Virginia Beach, VA, Peggy Mayes of Mayfield, KY and Wanda (Howard) Dick of Mayfield, KY; one brother, Valton McReynolds of Mayfield, KY.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Alen Burkhart; two brothers, James McReynolds and Billy McReynolds; four sisters, Marie Totty, Faye Smotherman, Elma Reeves and Janice Hobbs; two grandchildren, Christopher Chase Wyatt and Logan Thomas Burkhart.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00PM Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the Burkhart Cemetery in Hickory, KY. Rev. Tim Turner will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:30AM until 1:30PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
