Calvert City, KY (December 18, 2023) – On December 11, 2023 the Calvert City Police Department responded to a call in regard to an assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim outside of the residence. The victim advised that her granddaughter had attacked her. Officers made contact with the granddaughter inside the home. She admitted to intentionally assaulting her grandmother. Melanie Nicole Rundles, 38, of 98 Alaska Street, Calvert City was arrested for assault 4th degree (domestic violence) minor injury.
On December 16, 2023 the Calvert City Police Department responded to 2184 US Highway 62, the AmeriVu Inn, Room #142 in reference to a noise complaint and several individuals in the room causing a disturbance per hotel management. Upon knocking, officers observed two individuals run to the bathroom area of the room. Further contact was made with the subjects. A search of the room was conducted, and suspected methamphetamine, suboxone, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia were found. Seth A. Springer, 20, of Gilbertsville was arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (<2 gms methamphetamine). He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree (drug unspecified), possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful transaction with a minor 1st – illegal controlled substances, under 18 years of age.
