Teressia Ann Jones, age 76, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at her residence.
Mrs. Jones was born on April 16, 1947 in Cairo, Illinois to the late Ezell and Almeda Moody. She was a homemaker and caregiver who loved shopping and people watching. Teressia was an active member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where she also served as Deaconess. She will be remembered for her sweet, kind spirit and personality. She was soft spoken, friendly, and was always sensitive to the needs of others.
Teressia is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Jimmy Jones; three daughters, Pamela Smith of Paducah, Ayesha Smith of Paducah and Torkwase Smith of Paducah; one son, Jabari Jones of Lexington, Kentucky; three sisters, Tollie Johnson of Hazel Crest, Illinois, Herlett Bell of Forest Park, Illinois and Sandra Seavers (Norman) of Weston, Florida; one brother, Ezell Moody, Jr. (Gloria) of Hazel Crest, Illinois; five grandchildren, DeAngela Newell, Darius Smith, Dominique Wharton, Jabari Jones, Jr. and Taraji Jones; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Alcenia Byrd.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Doctor Calvin R. Cole, Sr. of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church and Minister Karen Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the 11:00 am service time of Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
