
Myra June Wyatt, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.
Myra was born in Marshall County on June 24, 1938 to Marshall and Lucy Jones. She graduated from Heath High School in 1956 having served as a cheerleader. Myra was a devoted Christian. She was an active member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and “Faith” Sunday School Class. She had a special passion for working with children, which lead to her teaching children’s Sunday School classes for more than forty years.
Myra was employed in the banking industry for forty years, having served ten years at Planter’s Bank in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and thiry years at Peoples National Bank of Paducah. She was a proud member of Paducah Ambassadors for five years, she was a Duchess of Paducah, a Kentucky Colonel and received an Alben Barkley Distinguished Citizen Award for her community services.
Myra was married for 67 years to the love of her life, Arlen Coleman Wyatt. They were married on Christmas Eve, 1956 in Corinth, Mississippi. Myra and Arlen resided in Paducah throughout most of their marriage with exception of ten years in Hopkinsville, Kentucky during their earlier years.
Myra is survived by her husband, Arlen Coleman Wyatt and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy Hicks Jones and Marshall Jones; her sisters, Margaret Mills, Mayme Bryan, Marily Pirtle and Mary Hurst; her brothers, Marshall Jones, Jr., Steven Jones and Robert Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the service hour of 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
