Calvert City, KY (December 11, 2023) – On November 29, 2023 officers with the Calvert City Police Department made contact with Mohamed A. Mohamed, 32, of 736 Chestnut Street, Calvert City in reference to him having a warrant. He was arrested on a Marshall County Warrant for assault 4th degree (domestic violence) minor injury.
On December 01, 2023 an officer with the Calvert City Police Department responded to the Love’s Travel Stop in reference to a shoplifter. The incident was recorded on store surveillance video. In the video you can see a subject take a breakfast bowl and leave without paying. The subject was still on the property and was eating the breakfast bowl upon officer contact. Francis James Foley, 62, of 7840 Rusty Oak Drive, New Port Richey, FL was arrested for theft by unlawful taking.
On December 01, 2023 an officer with the Calvert City Police Department made contact with Janie Renee Smith, 40, of 760 Evergreen Street, Calvert City in reference to her having a criminal summons taken out by the Benton Police Department. She was served the Marshall County Criminal Summons for theft by unlawful taking.
On December 04, 2023 an officer with the Calvert City Police Department noticed a suspicious vehicle parked on Cirrito Lane while patrolling the area. Upon contact, two subjects were in the back of the SUV and drug paraphernalia was visible in open view all over the interior of the vehicle. After further investigation, the two subjects were arrested. Tommy L. Atkins, 42, of 4480 Harper Road, #9, Paducah was arrested for possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Shannon L. Brock, 49, of 2230 Monroe Street, Paducah was arrested for possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 3rd or > offense (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Calvert City Police Department was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
On December 10, 2023 an officer with the Calvert City Police Department responded to a residence on Gilbertsville Highway multiple times with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a disturbance. After the 3rd call, Sharon McLean, 28, was arrested for public intoxication – controlled substances (excludes alcohol) and criminal trespass 1st degree.
