Mr. Robert H. “Candyman” Davis, Sr., age 88, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away, Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.
Mr. Davis was born on October 28, 1935, in Edmonson County, Kentucky to the late Berthal Davis and Frankie Minyard Davis. He worked in the grocery industry for 50 years and was of the Christian Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia Davis of Murray, Kentucky; they married on November 27, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky; one daughter, Beth Spencer and Gerald Hobbs of Louisville, Kentucky; one son, Robert Howard Davis, Jr. and wife RaShae Miller Davis of Murray, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Lauria Cook of Murray, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Nicholas Robert Davis and wife Elizabeth Brunn Davis of Murray, Kentucky, Dylan Hunter Davis of Murray, Kentucky, and Harlee Nicole Davis and friend Beau Breedlove of Benton, Kentucky; as well as nephews, Chris Wooldridge and wife Mary Lindsey of Murray, Kentucky, and Andrew Wooldridge and wife Lisa of Cottage Grove, Oregon.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Steven Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Russell Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
