Louis “Buddy” McLeod, 71 of Princeton, KY passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton, KY.
Born Friday, September 5, 1952, in Hayti, MO, he was the son of the late George Edward McLeod and the late Ruby Wilma (Mitchem) McLeod.
Buddy worked for the Caldwell County Road Department and was also a cattle farmer. He was a loving husband, father, and Papa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margaret (Newton) McLeod of Princeton, KY; son, George Lee McLeod wife Dee of Princeton, KY; daughter, Jennifer Shavey (Jamie Mills) of Princeton, KY; brothers, Phillip McLeod of Benton, KY, Terry McLeod of Benton, KY; sisters, Bethel Henson husband William of Benton, KY, Betty Chastain husband Darel of Morley, MO, Wilma Taylor husband Harold of Gilbertsville, KY, Tammy McLeod of Tiline, KY; grandchildren, Marissa Binkley (Travis), Kelsey Massee (Tyler), BreAnna Vorster (Dewet), John Shavey II (Billie), Jacob Shavey, Kevin McLeod, Brittany White; and great grandchildren, Luca Clinton, Elli Clinton, Aspen Masse, Esme Hopwood, Ava Vorster, Josie Shavey and Elliot Shavey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Melissa Taylor; brothers, John Henry McLeod, Russell McLeod, Bob McLeod, Claude Earl McLeod, George Paul McLeod and Joseph McLeod; and sisters, Linda Sue McLeod, Jean Estes, Miller Georgia Faye, Mary Lou Thompson, Jackie McLeod and Barbara McLeod.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home, located at 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025 with the Rev. David Hamlett officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service time of 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Collier Funeral Home.
