Mr. Eddie Lynn Sims, age 76, of Mayfield passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY.
He was a member of New Home Baptist Church, a retired employee of General Tire with over 36 years of employment and a US Army veteran.
Mr. Sims is survived by his wife of 55 years, Vicki King Sims; one son, Chad Lee Sims of Panama City Beach, FL; one daughter, Shelly Dawn Sims (Glen III) Lovelace of Seaford, DE; one brother, Terry Sims of Water Valley, KY; one sister, Norma Viniard of Murray, KY; four grandchildren, Kelsey Sims (Colin) Doty, Victoria Lovelace, Sophia Lovelace and Joshua (Vanessa) Voss; eleven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amanda Sims; two brothers, Charlie Sims and Jimmy Sims; and his parents, Truman and Tennie Breedlove Sims
Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Lynn Sims will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Mickey Fowler and Rev. Jason Flowers will officiate. Interment will follow at Farmington Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Riley, Bruce Lamb, Colin Doty, Noah Doty, Ralph Prince and Jackie Hamilton.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at the funeral home.
