Mrs. Anita Oates, age 81, of Kirksey, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at her home.
She was born on September 30, 1942, in Joliet, Illinois to the late Charles Host and Bertha (Wagner) Host. She retired as a switch board operator at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Oates; as well as one son, Tim Oates.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Schmitt and husband Bryan and Kim Knott; one son, Tom Oates; four sisters, Ann, Gay, Charlene, and Joane; two brothers, Chuck and Bernie; four grandchildren, Heather Clere, Gwen Brady, Seth Oates, and Jessica Oates; as well as three great grandchildren, Jabez, Haylen, and Serenity.
There will be no public service or visitation held at this time.
