Alice “Peg” Brown, age 94, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Baptist Health Paducah. Peg loved her church and is a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a friend of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Peg retired from Paducah Board of Education where she worked with the HeadStart Program as an aide for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and professional organization, P.E.O. Peg was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved family visits, especially the grandchildren. Peg had a great passion for people. Peg loved watching college sports, especially Alabama “Roll Tide” football. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Floyd (Don Stacy) of Paducah; two sons, Jeff (Kay) Brown, of Stuart, FL and Jim (Brenda) Brown of Paducah; four grandchildren Mark (Dayna) Brown, Jamey (Jordan) Brown, Amanda (Michael) Dodd and Johnna (Jon) Key; eight great-grandchildren, Milly Brown, Lucy Dodd, Grant Dodd, Annie Dodd, Sadie Dodd, Audrey S. Brown, Hayden S. Brown and Hudson D. Brown.
Preceding in death were husband, Richard “Dick” Brown; two grandsons, Scott Brown and Creighton Floyd; parents, Archie O. Bell and Exie Celsta Carpenter Bell; one brother, Richard “Dick” Bell.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Larry Walker officiating. Private family burial will be at the Mt. Kenton Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
