William “Bill” E. Cunningham, age 81, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 11:51 P.M. Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Mercy Health – Lourdes Hospital.
Bill was born in Symsonia, Kentucky on Wednesday, September 23, 1942 to Joe and Helen Cunningham. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a crane operator out of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181, retiring after 40 years with Operle Crane in Paducah, Kentucky. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bill was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Cunningham is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Jean Freeman Cunningham; his daughter, Chrysti Boswell (Joe) of Paducah; his grandson, David Clymer (Amy); his great grandchildren, Landon and Isabella Clymer; his brothers, Johnny Cunningham (Debbie) of Lone Oak, Kentucky and Tommy Cunningham; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cunningham was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Turner Cunningham and Helen Josephine Freeman Cunningham; his sisters, Betty Sue Lee, Rexie Pryor, Barbara Green, Elba Cunningham and Delores Cole; his brothers, Estel, Charlie, Bobby and Jerry Cunningham.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 6, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Encil Edmonds officiating. Entombment with military funeral honors will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Monday, November 6, 2023 at the funeral home.
