Mr. Charles A. Peeler, age 84, of Almo, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Peeler was born on January 15, 1939, in Murray, Kentucky, to the late Kelzie Peeler and Lucille (Hill) Peeler. Mr. Peeler retired from the Murray Police Department after 30 years of service. He was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church and was an Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Peeler was preceded in death by one sister, Lovelle Ogelsby; and by one brother, Leland Peeler.
Mr. Peeler is survived by his wife, Annita Peeler of Almo, to whom he married in 1978, in Calloway County, Kentucky; one daughter, Rema Wilson and husband Jace of Jackson, Tennessee; one son, Phillip Peeler and wife Jill of Dexter, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Tisha Higgs, Chelsey Peeler, Chase Peeler, Krystle Urban, and Olivia Jones; as well as six great-grandchildren, Sean Thomas Higgs, Haley Higgs, Hank Jones, James Urban, Hadley Urban, and Teddy Reid Jones.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Brother Dale Taylor and Brother Brett Miles will officiate, and burial will follow in the McDaniel Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
