Carolyn Lamkin Doke, age 83, of Paducah, formerly of Ballard County, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Providence Pointe Healthcare in Paducah.
Carolyn was born in Barlow, Kentucky on January 22, 1940 to the late Elbert and Louise Overby Lamkin. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Paducah. Carolyn owned and operated J.J.’s Burger Bar for many years and treated all her clients and employees like family. She invested much of her personal time into helping her employees with anything they needed. After moving to Paducah, Carolyn worked in the Mental Health profession as an Education Coordinator. In her free time, she loved to go antiquing and cooking food for her grandkids, especially biscuits and gravy and country ham.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Jack) Mundy, of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Brian Doke, Jerrod Doke, Molly Moore, Sam (Meredith) Wilson, Cody Doke, Susannah Wilson and Clayton Wilson; nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ken Rudy Doke; her daughter, Lana Moore; her son, Kerry Doke; a grandson, Blake Burnley; two brothers, David and Bernice Lamkin; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Katie McKown officiating. Burial will follow at Wickliffe City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the service time of 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the funeral home.
