Chase K. Gaia , 27

It is with great sorrow, but with great honor, that we announce that our son, Chase K. Gaia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 15, 2023. Chase is the oldest of our three sons whom we love deeply and will be missed more than words can say. Chase had a heart for helping and giving to others. Even at a young age, Chase would put other’s needs before his own.

As a young boy, Chase had a love for baseball. As he grew, he became involved in shooting sports. He had an eye for marksmanship and competed in trap shooting. Chase certainly lived his life to the fullest and always had a need for adventure. He loved his family and we loved him unconditionally.

Chase followed his own path in life and that eventually led to him joining the Ukrainian Army a little over a year ago. He found his purpose in life. The honor that we felt cannot be expressed in words. Chase had grown into an incredible young man. The heartfelt messages that we have received from the people of Ukraine and those he served alongside speak of his true character. Chase had touched so many people in a place so far from home.

I know without a doubt that when it is our time, our son Chase will welcome us with open arms into a glorious place, and that gives us hope for a bright future! Chase will never leave us because his memory will live on through his surviving family and friends. His Dad and Mom, Joe and Jonna Gaia; his brothers Kendall Gaia and Cole Gaia; his grandparents Mike Horn, Tammy Vance, Benny and Louise Gaia; as well as his Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Eric Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Barlow, KY.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
