Janice Ward, 75 of Benton, KY passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Mercy Health – Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY.
Born Tuesday, January 13, 1948 in Savannah, TN, she was the daughter of the late John D. Lineberry and the late Kathryn Geneva (Boyd) Lineberry.
Janice was a cosmetologist for over 30 years and owned The Hair Shoppe which was a thriving business on highway 641. She had many loyal customers who would often make appointments just to be able to come visit. She gave many children their first haircuts and enjoyed helping everyone. Her greatest joy was her family whom she loved dearly. Janice was a member of Briensburg Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Ward of Benton, KY; sons, Greg Ward of Lebanon, TN, Jason Ward wife LaDonna of Benton, KY; daughter, Jonda Young of Durham, NC; brother, David Lineberry wife Meta of Calvert City, KY; sisters, Belinda Lyles husband Billy of Benton, KY, Kathy Hack of Calvert City, KY, Betty Lilly husband Randy of Gilbertsville, KY, Connie Simon of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Beau Ward, Grady Ward, Jonathan Ward, Amanda Pandino, Joe Hart, Hayden Young, Ellison Young; and two great grandchildren, Bradley Hart and Bella Hart.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home, located at 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025 with Gary Knuckles officiating.
Burial will follow in Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Collier Funeral Home.
