Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Wiley, 73 of Benton, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus on Friday, October 6, 2023. She died at home with her family by her side.
Cindy was a retired elementary teacher, spending her career educating and loving all of the children she taught at South Marshall Elementary and Christian Fellowship School. In recent years she had the opportunity to share her love for education by helping her daughter homeschool her grandchildren. She was a huge asset to the Promise Land Homeschool and her influence will be greatly missed. Alongside her late husband, Bob, Cindy was a charter member of Promise Land Fellowship Church where they shared their love of the Lord with so many.
Bible studies were a passion for her in addition to sharing her testimony with others. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, shopping and she was a thoughtful gift giver who loved brightening the day of others. A history of the love of music brought her entire family together for generations. She valued the opportunity to share this with her own children and grandchildren.
Born July 23, 1950, in Murray, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas “Tommy” and Mary Jo (Ramsey) Mitchell.
She is survived by her daughter, Lacinda Wiley English, husband Kyle of Benton, KY; son, Matthew Stephen Wiley, wife Sara of Murray, KY; brother, Keith Mitchell of Hardin; and five precious grandchildren who she loved so much, Wiley Stephen English, Anna Grace English, James Ellis English and Ezra Thomas English all of Benton, KY, and Poem Estelle Wiley of Murray, KY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Ellis “Bob” Wiley; and brother, James Stephen “Steve” Mitchell.
