Richard W. Thompson, age 76, of LaCenter, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at his residence.
Richard was born in Paducah on October 5, 1946 to George Wallace Thompson and Cleo Berry Thompson. Richard was an avid golfer and member at Ballard County Country Club and spent many, many years hunting ducks and geese. His greatest joy came from watching his grandsons grow. Richard was a member of LaCenter First Baptist Church.
Richard is survived by one son, Benjamin A. Thompson (Jessica) of Calvert City; two grandsons, Britton A. Thompson and Cooper M. Thompson; one sister, Cindy Crenshaw (Larry) of Denver, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Jean G. Thompson; one sister, Patricia Viets Schneider, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe. Burial will follow the service at Wickliffe City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 12:00 p.m.
