
Charles ‘Tip’ Temporiti, 95, of Gilbertsville, Kentucky passed away on September 26, 2023 at his home.
Tip was born on January 29, 1928 at the Miners Hospital in West Frankfort, Illinois to the late Caesar and Mary Temporiti.
He grew up near his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was a graduate of Benton High School and soon after graduating was drafted into the Navy during WWII. He was discharged from the Navy in April of 1948. Shortly after, he met Sue, and they were wed in November of that same year. They were married just shy of their 60th anniversary before her passing. The two of them lived happily together in Gilbertsville, KY.
Tip was a proud Local 181 IUOE member out of Henderson, Kentucky for 71 years, a Charter member of the Calvert City Eagles Club #3510 and dual member of Bridge Street #3135 for many years, where he held several AERI, state, and district offices. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his son, Mark Temporiti of Gilbertsville; one granddaughter, Kim Temporiti-Reed of Gilbertsville; great-granddaughter, Lauren Reed-Poor (Bradley) of Benton, Kentucky; great-grandson, Blake Reed (Gwen) of Calvert City, Ky; great-great-grandson, Kainan Yeckering of Murray, Kentucky; and several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Temporiti; his daughter, Barbara Temporiti; and his parents Caesar and Mary Temporiti.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 8 2023 at his home located at 546 Steamboat Road, Gilbertsville, KY 42044 with a Casting Ceremony to follow.
