Richard “Duane” Hobbs, 62

Richard “Duane” Hobbs, 62, of Paducah, passed away on, Thursday, September 21, 2023 at his home.

 

Duane was born in Paducah, Kentucky on January 30, 1961, to the late, Melvin Frank Hobbs and Eula Bea Taylor Shoulta. He was a 1979 graduate of St. Mary High School. Duane worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 181. He was the former owner of “Doodle’s” restaurant and was a member of St. John Catholic Church.  Duane enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the lake. He was a huge NASCAR fan and passionate about anything pertaining to the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Duane will be remembered for the love he had for his two dogs, Minnie and Fydo, his children, and his grandchildren.

 

Duane is survived by his fiancé, Kim Reed of Paducah; his mother, Eula Bea Shoulta of Paducah; daughter, Stephanie Hobbs Belt (Tyler) of Paducah; son, Corey Duane Hobbs (Morgan) of Paducah; two step-daughters, Haley Mathews (Ryan) of West Paducah, and Chelsey McCosker of Paducah; four step-brothers, Todd Shoulta, Tony Shoulta, Marc Shoulta, and Jason Shoulta; and five grandchildren, Brooklyn Mathews, Aleyah Mathews, Waylon Mathews, Iva Grace Hobbs, and London Hobbs Belt.

 

He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Donnie Shoulta; and one brother, Randall Aaron Hobbs.

 

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 25, 2023 at St. John Catholic Church with Father Bruce Fogle officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

 

Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr.
