During the months of August & September of 2023, the McCracken County
Sheriff’s Office has been investigating a rash of burglaries and
vandalism at the Stone Creek Storage Units, located in the Farley
area.
The ongoing investigation revealed that to date, forty-three (43)
separate storage units have been burglarized.
On Friday, September 22nd at 9:30 p.m. it was reported that a male
subject was on the property, actively burglarizing multiple units.
Corporal Brad Lamb and his partner, K9 Vegas, arrived in the area
along with multiple other deputies. Upon seeing law enforcement in the
area, the male subject fled the property and into a nearby corn field.
K9 Vegas tracked the suspect approximately one mile, through the corn
field and thick vegetation. Once located, the suspect refused to obey
commands and attempted to flee yet again. K9 Vegas was able to quickly
apprehend him and assist deputies in taking him into custody.
The suspect has been identified as Jessie F. Cross (46) of Harlan
County, Kentucky. It was learned that Cross had two active warrants
for his arrest and had recently fled from the Paducah Half-Way House.
Cross was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail on:
Burglary 3rd Degree (43 Counts)
Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree (On Foot)
Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree
